People come to therapy for many different reasons, and while it can feel scary to reach out, maybe there’s a part of you that is here because you know you deserve a better quality of life. It can be difficult to navigate life’s obstacles, and the last few years have created even more challenges for us. Therapy can provide a safe healing space to talk about these issues and help you to begin to feel more empowered to change the aspects of life that no longer serve you.
I have 25 years of experience working with a diverse clientele and specialize in PTSD/trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and adjustment disorders. I take a strengths based approach and feel you have all the answers needed inside of you. My role is to guide and support you to help make the necessary changes that are aligned with your highest good. My other role is to walk beside you on your journey and know that you don’t have to go through hard times alone.
I also believe that the mind/body/spirit connection is important in counseling, and that many holistic interventions have been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, help feel more grounded and heal the body. As a Sound Healer, I use various instruments to create vibrations in the body which can induce feelings of deep relaxation and peace. Our bodies are always seeking balance and harmony and sound is a beautiful tool to help healing occur!

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson

The stressors of life don't discriminate. As we navigate through our individual journeys, we all encounter obstacles and setbacks that we don't need to face alone. As a team, we will develop your resilience and tap into your inner strengths to build your self confidence. During my 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I've guided clients with diverse backgrounds and needs to achieve their goals. I studied psychology at Penn State University and graduated with my master's degree in counseling education in 2013. I have experience helping people with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship/communication issues, sexual/gender identity issues, and many other life stressors.
Together, we will start our work by building our therapeutic relationship and setting goals for our time together. I will use individualized therapeutic techniques and exercises depending on your intentions for therapy. I use an eclectic style of counseling which includes aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI); Person Centered therapy, and feminist theory. I am confident I can provide you with a safe space to share your thoughts and feelings and to offer new perspectives and coping skills for you to be your best self.

I am a mindfulness and meditation teacher, guide, and devotee. When I began practicing mindfulness and meditation, it became clear to me that up until that point I had been living my life outside of myself.
For as long as I could remember, I sought reward from outside sources, identified with myself as others saw me, and accepted society's definitions of happiness, success, and beauty (to name a few).
I was unaware that another way of living existed and had not realized the influence this had on my ideas of good and bad, right and wrong, success and failure, until I started looking inward.
Ask yourself, “Whose lens am I viewing my life through? How much of my life am I truly experiencing?” When I asked myself these questions, my answers were, "Not my own lens, and not much of my life."
It is through mindfulness and meditation that I found my true self, a second chance, a rebirth, a truth that I am compelled to share.
My mission, my purpose, my promise is to meet you wherever you are on your journey and to help you experience the moments of your life with acceptance, compassion, and ease. I absolutely love helping people anyway I can, body, mind and spirit. Over the years I have learned if you deal with your emotions and can release them then your body will follow. Wherever the mind goes the body will follow.
In my Therapeutic massages I combine guided meditation, relaxing massage and reiki all in one. I have been a massage therapist for 17 years and learned a lot along the way.
I am also the author of “The Strong Tree” , this book is about how we grow stronger through the tough times we go through. The book “Rex’s Bad Day”, teaches you that if can think positively it can change your whole day.

As a Reiki Master practitioner, I connect with universal life energy to support your intentions for balance, healing and growth along your journey. Reiki is a Japanese art that provides relaxation, stress reduction and connection to your authentic self.
I bring trauma-informed training to my practice of reiki as well. This means that you will have the option of light touch or no touch, with demonstration of the various hand placements that are part of the reiki treatment, while laying fully clothed on a reiki bed, encouraged to open or close your eyes as you feel comfortable and to share any concerns along the way, with the option to pause or stop at any time, welcoming questions and feedback throughout. I incorporate guided visualization into the reiki session as desired.
Reiki is a daily practice following the five principles that "Just for today, I will not worry. I will not be angry. I will be grateful. I will do my work honestly. I will be kind to every living thing."
Reiki supports balance of the seven chakras in increasing wisdom, connection, expression, love, strength, creativity, and safety. Reiki is not a replacement for medical care and is most beneficial as a complementary modality to support holistic well-being. I look forward to walking alongside you in your journey of bringing more love and light to your path within and with those whom you come into connection!!
You don't want to miss out on these opportunities of relaxation and healing for ALL ages!
